What: The United States Tennis Association continues the tradition of honoring persons for outstanding fieldwork in community tennis by presenting the USTA Eve Kraft Community Service Award during the 2013 Community Tennis Development Workshop, at a location to be determined. Purpose: The USTA Eve Kraft Community Service Award is given annually to individual(s) who have made significant contributions in developing community-based tennis programs through community tennis associations, community centers, schools, parks and recreation agencies and other local tennis providers. Criteria: All nominees must have at least (3) consecutive seasons of fieldwork, Candidates must be recommended by at least two (2) people familiar with the candidate's work. Nominators cannot be members of the candidate's immediate family. Among the criteria please check off below some items to consider.
Criteria to consider are:

Scope and variety of programs and number of people served Depth of involvement in community (i.e. impact on community's overall tennis picture, please limit up tp 3 photos) New and innovative features resulting from candidates activities Involvement of other community service or recreational organizations (i.e. YMCA, Senior Centers, Boys Clubs, etc.)

Award Recipient

Awards: Award recipient of the USTA Eve Kraft Community Service Awards will receive an expense-paid trip to the 2013 Community Tennis Development Workshop. This includes a complimentary registration to the Workshop, hotel accommodations, roundtrip airfare and presentation of the award during the awards banquet. All winners will be notified by telephone or mail at least one month prior to the Workshop.
Deadline

The Eve Kraft Community Service Award will now have a rolling deadline. The application will be available all year and accepted all year. May 1 is now the cutoff date and all applications received by that date will be considered for that current year’s award. For example, all applications received by May 1, 2012 will be considered for the 2012 Eve Kraft Community Service Award. All applications received after May 1, 2012 will be considered for the 2013 Eve Kraft Community Service Award. Please contact cta@usta.com if you have any questions.
